Due to the current guidelines regarding the Coronavirus, we have postponed this event.  We are hoping to be able to reschedule for the autumn.  Thank you to everyone who has offered to help at the races.

On Saturday 21st March 2020, the 16th Annual John William Stacey Memorial Race will be taking place at RAF Benson.

The races are free to enter. Children will need to wear their school PE kit, trainers and bring a water bottle.  Registration is from 9.30 am.

Children will be practising their race routes at school. The routes are displayed next to the stairs going down to Y1/2 and also on the PTA Facebook page.

Race Times

10:00 am  Y1 girls, followed by Y1 boys   640m

10:15 am  Y2 girls, followed by Y2 boys   640m

10:30 am  Y3 girls, followed by Y3 boys  1100m

10:45 am  Y4 girls, followed by Y4 boys  1100m

11:00 am  Y5 girls, followed by Y5 boys  1300m

11:15 am  Y6 girls, followed by Y6 boys  1700m

There are certificates for all runners and medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each race. The JWS event trophy goes to the school with the most points (minimum teams of 3 runners from a school in a race to qualify). The Key Stage 1 Champion and Key Stage 2 Champion trophies are awarded to the highest scoring schools, with no team requirement.

Bacon rolls, sausage rolls, baked good and hot and cold drinks will be available to purchase.

Donations of baked goods for our refreshment stall will be very much appreciated.  We also require volunteers on the day for marshalling and serving refreshments. Please contact the school office if you are able to help on the day.
