Crime & Punishment

Crime and Punishment

This term, our History lessons will take Chinook class on a journey through British history as they discover how crime and punishment has changed throughout the ages. Beginning with the Romans and traveling right through to the present day, we will discover how changes in society create changes in the kind of crimes that are committed, as well as the ways in which they are punished.

We will also visit Oxford Castle and Prison where we will visit the Oxford From pillories to porridge! Using objects, documents and costume we will find out more about changing attitudes to Crime and how criminals have been captured and punished over the years.

In English, we will be reading 'Stormbreaker' by Anthony Harowitz where we will be writing in role as the main character through diary entries and designing and advertising our own spy gadget. Through doing this we will be continuing to explore high-level punctuation, grammar and vocabulary.

This term we also have our SATs tests and will showcase how much amazing progress we have made!

We will SMASH 'em!
