Welcome back to the final term of Year 4.
We hope you had a great holiday and a good rest.
This term is going to be a busy one, with lots of hard work to prepare us for Year 5 and plenty of fun and sunshine to enjoy along the way!
Our Topic this term is Under The Sea and we will be learning all about life beneath the waves. One highlight of our Topic will be a trip to the Sea Life Centre on 6th July!
In English we will follow the nautical theme, beginning with descriptive writing based around Dougal's Deep-Sea Adventure. We will then move on to explore ocean myths and quests, before creating our own reference book of fictional sea creatures. We will be doing plenty of Grammar revision and working hard on our spellings.
In Maths we will continue to build on our knowledge and strategies for the 4 major operations and will be linking decimals and fractions. We will be developing our problem solving and reasoning skills, will look at the properties of 2D and 3D shapes and will learn to interpret data from a variety of charts and graphs. Times tables will be a big focus this term to help us to prepare for the work in Year 5.
