Evolution & Inheritance

Glorious Galapagos

This term we are following the adventures and extraordinary findings of Charles Darwin whilst we delve into the volcanic landscape, time zone and unique climate of the Galapagos Islands in geography and learn about evolution and inheritance in science.

To help us on our way, in English we will be following the tale of Syms Covington, cabin boy and fiddler on Charles Darwin's ship, the Beagle, through the text 'Darwin's Dragons' by Lindsay Galvin.

We will of course also be rehearsing our end of year production, working on our stage presence and expression. This year, sticking to our nautical adventures theme, be prepared for The Pirates of the Curry Bean! We hope to see you on the 15th July for our showcase performance.

Eco bake sale!

Our amazing Year 5 and 6 children, supported by our dedicated Year 4 eco-warriors, led the way this week raising money to be split equally between the Eco-Club to enhance our school habitats and the WWF, the council's chosen charity. Thank you to everyone who donated and home-baked cakes - all were gratefully received, but a special thanks to the creators of the showstopper cake and cheesecake offered up as raffle prizes. They were all truly scrumptious and we couldn't have raised money without you! Thank you to all who helped and supported, including of course all our Eco-Club members across the school who went home and harassed their parents into baking for a good cause! You are all amazing!
