Term 5 Daring Detectives

This term we are learning to be detectives! All our topic work is based around clues which the children will try to solve. We will be trying to discover facts about places around the world as well as carry out science investigations.

Maths homework will continue to be sent home Wednesdays to be completed by Friday.
Spellings will be given Wednesdays. This term we would like the children to bring back their 'Look, Cover, Write, Check' sheets on Tuesday or Wednesdays so we can see how they have been getting on at home (it is sometimes different to how they do in their spelling test).
Because this is a discovery topic we might also ask the children to find out information at home.

This term there is no show and tell, so please can I ask for all toys to be left at home. Instead we will be having book talk. We will ask one group per week to bring in a book of their choice and talk about it to the class. We will let you know when it is your child's turn. We will also have a featured author. Our first author this term is Quentin Blake, so if the children have a book by Quentin Blake and would like to share it with the class, they may bring it in on a Thursday.

For more details about our work this term you can click on the curriculum brochure, which is available for printing.

I'm not sure how we will fit it all in, but I'm sure we'll give it a good go!
