Behaviour Support Officer

Hours: 35 hours per week (8:30am – 4:00pm 5 days) 

Job Type: Term Time only 

Scale: Grade 8 Scale 18 – 23 (£24,982 - £27,741 pro rata) 

Report to: Headteacher

The Behaviour Support Officer will provide a complementary service to our Pastoral
Support Officer, Inclusion Team, teachers and support staff in addressing the needs of
children who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their
full potential or accessing the curriculum.

The Behaviour Support Officer will work with a range of children, but give priority to those
who need the most help, especially:
• Children with special or medical needs
• Challenging behaviour
• Children with a statement of special educational needs

The Behaviour Support Officer will be predominantly education based but will have a wider
remit including working with families and the wider community should the need arise.

The Behaviour Support Officer will work with children on a one-to-one basis or in small or
large groups and liaise with other staff in school and also relevant external agencies.
