In this term's topic we will be finding out all about different aspects of the night time.
The children have already begun to learn about some nocturnal animals and have begun to read The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark.
We will be finding out about what makes night and day- what effects that has on the adaptation of animals-which constellations we can see in the night sky- who are the people that work through the night- how to keep safe in the dark.
We are also hoping to have a couple of exciting activities. One of them is a trip so look out for the letter.
As we mentioned to some of you in Parents' evening, we are now at the time of year when we begin to look forward to preparing for Y3. Part of this will be checking all homework is in and complete from now on. Should children not get the opportunity to complete homework art home, they will be given the chance at Friday lunchtime. We have already had our first homework club. Those children that attended were happy to come along to finish their work, but ideally this would be better done at home with parental support as it also gives you all chance to find out what we are learning that week.
Thank you to all the parents who attended Parents' Evening. If you were unable to attend or wish to speak about any other matters, please do come and see us. Likewise, if you have a desire to come and help us (reading, gardening, filing for example) then do approach us. We are always happy to welcome any support.
