Summer Term 2 - Planet Earth
This term our topic in Griffin class is PLANET EARTH!
We have a very exciting term ahead focusing on Geography!
In our topic lessons we will be exploring the United Kingdom and looking specifically at where we live. We are going to be looking at map symbols and create maps as well as naming the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world. Finally, we are going to contrast where we live to Africa and explore famous landmarks by looking at aerial photographs!
Our geographical knowledge of Africa will link to our Art & DT lessons where we will be creating famous landmarks our of biscuits and making mud huts using clay.
In Maths we will be looking at place value (within 100), money, and time. We will also continue to practice our counting in 2s, 5s and 10s! In English we are using the story 'The Hunter' by Paul Geraghty to explore grammar, setting descriptions, making predictions and lots more!
