Spring 2: Northern Lights
Northern Lights
This term, as the days get longer, we will be looking at LIGHT and DARK throughout our learning.
In English, we will be looking at the wonderful story of 'The Night Box'. Through this we will be learning all about poetic and descriptive writing devices and we will practice applying them in our own narrative poem, as we consider what might happen if 'The Day Box' was opened.
Our texts this term:
In science, we will be finding out about how light travels and how this helps us to see. We will also be exploring shadows including how they are formed and what makes them change size or shape.
In geography, we will find out all about the beautiful natural phenomenon that is 'The Northern Lights'. In our lessons we will journey to the country of Iceland, drawing comparisons between the climate, economy and environment of this beautiful country and our own.
