We have just finished our first week and have 'travelled' to Australia and New Zealand, discovering the wildlife and cooking the food. We entered the International Cookathon with an amazing Peach Melba Pavlova, inspired by two classic Australian dishes and whilst we didn't win, we were very proud of our amazing dessert. It certainly got devoured quickly in the classroom!
This term we are completing our work through the life and works of Beatrix Potter.
She is fantastic role model for us all, overcoming prejudice whilst maintaining her curiosity of the world. She was accomplished in science, art and literature and pursued her passions for conservation and wildlife throughout her life.
We are already enjoying reading her stories and exploring the language she uses to describe her characters.
In addition to this we will find out about the real life wildlife in her stories and discovering more about them, such as what they eat and where they live.
This is our last term together and we aim to make the most of it so keep a look out for: a trip to Farmer Gow's, Sports Day, Camo Day, Fathers Day Lunch, Summer Fair, Forest school, Open Morning and our exciting transitions to our new classes.
As always, we thank you for all your parental support and hope we all have an amazing last term.
