Astonishing Animals

Welcome back to school for Spring Term 1. We have another exciting term ahead of us, with lots of learning linked to our topic ‘Astonishing Animals’.

In English, we will be reading ‘Charlotte’s Web’ by E.B. White and exploring the characters to support our learning of narratives and diary writing. In Science, we will be learning about animals including humans. Specifically, we will be focusing on human teeth, the digestive system and then exploring food chains. In Geography, our focus will be on Economic activity and trade links.

For more information about our learning this half term, please see the Topic Web and Knowledge Organiser below. Additionally, our class outcome for this half term is Animation so please do take a look at the videos below.

In English this half term, we have been reading 'Charlotte's Web' by E.B. White. We have also been learning about animation in Computing. As part of this learning, the children in the class then worked in small groups to draw the setting of the farm from Charlotte's Web and have then created an animation including Fern, the eight year old girl from the story, along with Wilbur, the pig. Here are a couple of their animations.
