Spring 1 - Jurassic World?
Do we live in a Jurassic World?
This term Year 3 are going to be looking at the dinosaurs and other animals that lived both in prehistoric times and modern times.
Our English will focus on the dinosaurs directly and how you could keep one as a pet. We will start by looking at The Wondrous Dinosaurium in which a boy wants to get a pet dinosaur but runs into a but of trouble with keeping them.
In our topic work we will be looking at what is left of the dinosaurs and how they compare to modern day creatures with their skeletons and musculature. We will also be taking a look at the history of fossil hunting in the UK.
In Design and Technology the class have been set a challenge to create a sturdy enclosure for their dinosaurs and so will be investigating materials and their strengths and weaknesses.
