Teaching Assistants: Miss Parr, Mrs Thornton and Mrs Wanstall
We are very excited to welcome you to Gazelle class this year. We have lots of exciting topics and activities planned to support your learning, which we hope you will enjoy.
Keep an eye on our class page for updates on what we’ve been up to!
Some key information for you to know:
Reading: We recommend reading at home for at least 10 minutes per day and marking this in your home reading record. This way, if you are having difficulties, we know how to help you. We read in class too, so make sure reading records and books are in your bag each day.
Drink and Snack: Please bring a water bottle in every day. We have healthy fruit for snacks in class or you can bring your own.
PE Kits: Please bring your full kit in on a Monday and take it home again on a Friday. PE and physical activities can change days according to weather etc, so having your kit in all week is the only way of being sure to have it at the right time.
Homework: All homework is based upon what we have been learning in class. English and maths go home in a homework book every Monday and should be handed back in on the Thursday. If you are finding it a bit tricky ask an adult at home to help you or speak to an adult in the classroom, who will always be happy to help.
Spellings: Spellings go home every Friday in a separate spelling book. Please do practise - it makes a big difference to your work. Remember to bring your spelling book back in every Friday for your spelling test and to receive your next set of spellings to practice.
Remember, we are always happy to talk to mums, dads and carers. However, with the continued COVID situation we ask that you make an appointment if it is more than just a quick question. You can also contact us through the school office. If there is an issue that we need to discuss with you, the teacher will phone you after 3.30pm on that day
