Welcome to Reception. Miss Penfold-Smith is the class teacher and Mrs T supports our learning..
Our class belief is to provide children with a high quality of education and care, thus, helping children succeed not only in school but in later life.
Routines
Please ensure that your child’s PE kit remains at school during the week as this may be needed outside our timetabled PE lesson of Thursday. Additionally, please provide your child with a water bottle each day, as well as a healthy snack. It is not necessary for your child to bring in any classroom stationary, everything is provided for them.
Fresh-air Fridays
Our framework for teaching in Early Years states the following benefits of outdoors learning:
• ‘Being outdoors has a positive impact on children's sense of well-being and helps all aspects of children's development.
• Being outdoors offers opportunities for doing things in different ways and on different scales than when indoors.
• It gives children first-hand contact with weather, seasons and the natural world.
• Outdoor environments offer children freedom to explore, use their senses, and be physically active and exuberant.’
Hence, every Friday (normally morning time) we put on our splash-suits (provided by school) and our wellies (provided by parents) and venture into the great outdoors. Do wave if you see us, and, click on the ladybird below to enjoy our photos.
Our current topic is ‘Funny Bones’.
