It is with great sadness and sorrow that one of the most constant and inspirational women that we have known for our lifetime has died.
Queen Elizabeth II, born in 1926 and crown Queen of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth in 1952 at the age of 26, passed away peacefully at Balmoral castle on Thursday 8 September 2022.
The Queen played a big part in the lives of many of our parents and families and will be taking time to remember the wonderful things that she did for our country and nation. Our parents proudly
Today we held an Assembly of Remembrance where we watched the videos below and where adults around the hall reminisced on various memories that they had of The Queen during their lives - many form what they remembered from their childhood. however, most of the adults remember fondly the big beaming smile that she had that we will always remember in our hearts.
The school will be supporting the national mourning period alongside our Armed Forces community and will be closed to observe and, where possible, be part of the state funeral on Monday 19 September.
We will now see, over the coming weeks, the throne passed to King Charles III and the changes that come with a change of monarch - which not many people have experienced.
Long live the King.
