Charity Day - Friday 10th July 2015

On Friday 10th July we are having a whole school charity afternoon where all staff and children in school will be taking part in two challenges to raise money for two charities, Cancer Research and the British Heart Foundation. The children in each Key Stage will be going head to head to see who can raise the greatest percentage towards their fundraising target.

Reception and Key Stage 1

Children and staff in Reception and Key Stage 1 will be taking part in the ‘Jump-Rope For Heart’ Challenge to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Their challenge is to skip, as a class, for set periods of time leading up to 1 hour with some breaks for rest and refreshment included. Children will be timed for how many minutes that they skip and they will be looking to set their own target on the day.

The charity fundraising target for KS1 including Reception is £150 (£50 per class) and this can either be raised through sponsorship forms that your child will receive or online at the link below:

Key Stage 2

Children and staff in Key Stage 2 will be taking part in the Cancer Research ‘Race for Life’.  This will involve walking or running 5 laps of the Station field. The children will have the opportunity to rest and have refreshment stops during the event.

The charity fundraising target for KS2 is £200 (£50 per class) and this can either be raised through sponsorship forms that your child will receive or online at the link below:

Thank you in advance for your support with our ‘Charity Day’ - we would be very grateful if you could send these links to family and friends to help the children reach their goal.
