Summer 1: Awesome Animals

Awesome Animals

Ever wondered what it is like to go on an African safari? Or what animals live in the deepest parts of the Amazon rainforest? This term we will be looking at both the Savannah and the rainforest. We will explore art, music and dance in these diverse regions and compare the two environments and the animals which live in them with the animals we see everyday. As part of is, we will begin to look at lifecycles and might even have some special guests to watch develop.

Please find below our Topic Web and Knowledge Organiser for this term.

For Month of the Military Child we dressed in purple clothes and created artwork on our experiences as an armed forces child.

We loved learning about Yao Bobby, an artist who creates artwork out of rubbish he finds at the beach. We learnt how to use hammers and nails to create our own artwork.

We read the book Dear Zoo and then designed and made animal carriers for different animals following a specification.

Back in December we created collages based on the Arctic, this term we created Savannah collages to compare them with.
