  • Access to School

    Mon 20 Mar 2023

    Dear Parents,

Further to the newsletter, the major building projects have started to take place and for the rest of this term we will have to stop access to all pedestrians towards the rear gate for this time for health and safety reasons. This will start from tomorrow morning.

Therefore, all children and adults must use the lower gate by the Reception building for the time being please. Bikes and scooters will need to be placed sensibly in the rack please to enable all children to have access to this facility. I am hoping this will just be a short term measure and access will be available after the Easter break. I will keep you updated.

Additionally, as there will be more children and adults in this area, we must insist that parents do not park in the staff car park as we are aware that this is still occurring. I do not want to ask Mr Haythorne to be policing this but politely ask that you respect our request at this time.

I have discussed these projects with the children in assembly this morning and have highlighted that this area must be avoided, especially during non-school hours. I would very much appreciate your support with this and reminding your child about staying away from the fenced off areas.

Should you have any questions, please do get in touch.

    Best Wishes

    Steph

  • Her Majesty The Queen has died

    Fri 09 Sep 2022

It is with great sadness and sorrow that one of the most constant and inspirational women that we have known for our lifetime has died.

Queen Elizabeth II, born in 1926 and crown Queen of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth in 1952 at the age of 26, passed away peacefully at Balmoral castle on Thursday 8 September 2022.

The Queen played a big part in the lives of many of our parents and families and will be taking time to remember the wonderful things that she did for our country and nation. Our parents proudly

Today we held an Assembly of Remembrance where we watched the videos below and where adults around the hall reminisced on various memories that they had of The Queen during their lives - many form what they remembered from their childhood. however, most of the adults remember fondly the big beaming smile that she had that we will always remember in our hearts.

The school will be supporting the national mourning period alongside our Armed Forces community and will be closed to observe and, where possible, be part of the state funeral on Monday 19 September.

We will now see, over the coming weeks, the throne passed to King Charles III and the changes that come with a change of monarch - which not many people have experienced.

    Long live the King.
