What did the Mayans do for us?
This term our topic has an art and history focus and our learning will be based around the Mayans We will be placing key dates in chronological order to help us understand the importance of the events that took place and try to gain an insight into what the Mayans did for us and how they have affected our culture.
In science we will be learning all about living things. We will be learning to classify species into different categories and exploring their similarities and differences – this builds on our work around evolution and inheritance from Autumn 2. We will also be investigating how microorganisms grow and where we can find them.
Our art lessons will be based around historic Mayan art work - we will be studying the different ways they created art and designing and creating our very own Mayan print based on Mayan designs but adding the children's personal touch!
