Spring 1 - Myths and Monsters

Welcome back everyone after our Christmas break.

Before we tell you about the exciting learning happening this term, please accept our thanks for all the lovely presents, cards and well wishes we received from the children and yourselves. They were very much appreciated.

The children did us all proud at the end of last term with their performance of 'The Nutcracker', with which they worked so hard, learning lines, playing drums and bells, dancing and even making your German gingerbread.  We hope you enjoyed the performance as much as we did.

Now on to the term ahead.

In this term we will be learning all about different non-religious myths from around the world.

We will learn about heroes and villains and make our own minds up about what we think makes a hero.

We will learn what a myth is and attempt to create our own based on what we find out.

Our reading and writing skills will be stretched and practised as we begin to really focus in on those skills we need to be a confident Year 2 writer.

Our routines this term remain the same with homework going out on Mondays and returned on Thursdays.

If you have any problems, remember you can find one of the teaching team on the playground most mornings from 8.40.

For more in depth discussions, make an appointment as usual.
