This term, Merlin have lots of exciting and interesting subjects to study.
Here are some highlights of what we will be learning …
This term we will be on a voyage of discovery to North America as we learn about the countries and geography of this fascinating continent. Year 5 will learn about the climate, the geographical features, capital cities and timelines of North America through a range of learning activities, giving them an insight into how life in North America is different to life here in the UK.
In English, our learning will be based on a picture book rhyming version of Charles Dickens ‘A Christmas Carol’. We will be continuing to improve our writing by using different literary techniques and high-level grammar.
In maths, we will be working on multiplication and division, perimeter and area and statistics.
In science, this term we will be continuing with properties and changes of materials.
In our PE lessons, we will be continuing our progress in swimming, also we will be learning to dance (Bollywood and Line Dancing). Please ensure that your child has their PE kit on a Monday.
