Summer Term 2 - Commotion in the Ocean
This Half Term we will be concluding Year 4 with our Commotion in the Ocean Topic. Throughout this topic we will be exploring the Ocean's around us, some of the types of marine life found in our Ocean's, as well as how we can play our part to help support the sustainability of our Oceans. In Science we will be learning about the Water Cycle and we will be revising what we have covered throughout the year. In Art and DT we will be creating our own class aquarium using different mediums and in computing we will be exploring how the internet works, whilst conducting our own safe searches online.
In English, we will be using the text, 'Dougal's Deep Sea Diary' to delve further into our Ocean's topic. Children will be encouraged to explore descriptive writing techniques and will be investigating and comparing the features of diary writing and narrative writing. In maths, there will be a continued focus on fractions and decimals, as well as, time and properties of 2D and 3D shape.
