Term 1: Under the Sea

Welcome to our first term in Year 2, where we will be exploring life in the World's oceans.

We will start our learning with a focus on geography by  learning the names of the different continents and the oceans of the World.

We will then dive under the waves in science to find out what animals and plants live in the ocean habitat, how they survive underwater and what they eat. We will be comparing different habitats and how different types of animals have different life cycles and develop our scientific skills by carrying out different investigations involving floating and plastic pollution.

In history we will look further at how increased pollution and other changes in history have effected our British seasides. Children will even put on their own Punch and Judy shows to raise money for charity.

Keep checking back here to see updates on what we have been up to...including a range of fantastic artwork we will be creating using different techniques and styles!

Look at the fantastic work we have been doing on Place Value!

We explored microhabitats and went on a bug hunt in Science. Look what we found!!

Here are the amazing sea creature puppets we made for parents to buy. All money is going to the Marine Conservation Society.
