Autumn 2: Toys Over Time

Terrific Toys

Our  topic this term is Terrific Toys, we will start by looking at our own family history and developing our knowledge of family tress. We will then look the similarities and differences between toys toys and toys in the past. During the term, we will have special visitors who we will interview about the different toys from their childhoods.  In Design and Technology, we will create our own toy puppet theatres with moving mechanisms and in Science we will explore materials.

There are also lots of festivals to celebrate this term, from Bonfire Night and Halloween to Remembrance and of course Christmas!

Keep your checking this page for updates and photos of all the fun things we get up to.

Below is this term's knowledge organiser. A knowledge organiser shows the key facts and knowledge that relate to our topic for this term. Every term, we will have a new knowledge organiser.

Below are this terms Topic Webs. A Topic Web shows what we will be doing in each area of learning. Every term, we will have a new Topic Web.

For Halloween, we made our own magic potions and wrote about what they did to the drinker.

On Bonfire Night, we learnt how to keep safe around fireworks and made our own paintings.

For Remembrance, we studied the artist Paul Cummins who made 888,246 poppies to remember those who died in WW1.

We started our Terrific Toy topic by exploring different toys from the past.

As the weather started to get colder, we learnt about the different cold places around the world and created our own collages of the animals that live in them.
