Oxfordshire Supporting Service Children

Currently, our Headteacher, Mrs Fawdry, sits on the National Executive Advisory Committee for Service Children in State Schools and therefore in a position to help and advise local schools on how they can best support Service Children in their schools too.

We aim to meet each term (3 times a year) online or in person and discuss issues relating to mobility and deployment, pastoral support and other issues connected with supporting Service Children.

Locally, there have been a number of events where Service children have got together to celebrate their uniqueness. Camo day and our Service Pupil Act of Remembrance at the beautiful Dorchester Abbey to name just two. We have also worked with other organisations to create a conference for adults to know how to best support Service children and also for children to get together to share their experiences with others.

Should you wish to know more, please contact Mrs Fawdry on 01491 836460.
